About me

1-Year-Weight-Loss

Hi

Thanks for visiting my 1 year weight loss site! Here’s little bit about me…

Like many of you reading this, I’m a typical yoyo-dieter.

First Diet

At my heaviest, back in October 2019, I weighed a whopping 21st 2lbs (just under 300lbs!)!! Back then, in my first attempt to sort myself out, I dieted for 12 months and got down to 19st 8lbs by October 2020. Then, as usual I started to pile it back on again, and by Christmas 2020 I had gone back up 20 stone.

Second Diet

I started the next round of dieting on 1st January 2021, with the full intention of reaching 15 stone in 12 months, and this time I was determined to do it! By August I’d lost over 3 stone. I’d got down to 16st 10lbs and felt great! I was well on track to hit my goal weight (maybe even beat it!). But then it all went to shit!

In September 2021, after 8 months of being super focused on getting healthier and losing weight, I went on a big family holiday to Portugal, which was of course a huge drunken food fest! Then, in October, not long after returning home from the holiday, and even though I’d been jabbed, I got covid! It hit me pretty hard and I was laid up in bed for 10+ days with nearly every possible covid symptom you can get!

So between the holiday, where I rediscovered the joys of bad food and alcohol, and covid that knocked me on my arse (I’m fine now by the way!), I lost all motivation to carry on dieting and to get fit, and long story short, I put loads of weight back on.

Fast forward a year to today, 1st September 2022, I’m all the way back up to 19 stone, or 266lbs!

As I said – A YOYO!!

1 Year Weight Loss Journey

Starting today, I’m going to use this site to track my 1 year weight loss journey, and have a goal weight of 200lbs. That’s just over 14 stone in real money. A five stone stone weight loss target might not sound drastic to some of you, but to me it’s huge! I think the the last time I weighed 14 stone, I was 12 years old!!!

You can check out my first post here – Day 1 of my 1 year weight loss journey.

UPDATE – As you can see here: https://1yearweightloss.com/1-year-weight-loss-restart-again/ it didn’t go to plan! But today, 14th October 2023 I’m kicking this off again.

Thanks
Lee

Important note: As you’ll clearly see if you follow me on my 1 year weight loss journey, I’m not trained in any form of nutrition or exercise, so please do not rely on this site for fitness or dietary advice. This really is just my way of capturing what works, or doesn’t work for me, which mostly involves me dicking around in the gym, and trying to eat less crap! If you do follow what works for me, you do so at your own risk. Please consult a professional before embarking on your own weight loss journey. Come to think about it, I probably should have done that myself LOL!
