
April 23rd 2025 – Week 1 of My 1 Year Weight Loss Journey
MIXED FEELINGS…
Ive just completed the very first week on Mounjaro and although im happy with the weight loss, its not all good news.
So i started last week at 280lbs (279.9 to be exact) and this mornings weigh in was 272.6. So a very decent weight loss of 8.3lbs!
And of all weeks to start – its Easter, so the house was full of chocolate, plus we had a family BBQ here over the bank holiday weekend where id usually get very drunk and eat everything i could get my hands on! But with pretty little effort ive actually been able to say no to all the unhealthy stuff and be good!
BUT – I have had one side-effect from taking Mounjaro – i cant pony! WTF! Ive gone from going 3 times a day to barely managing 3 times all week lol! Yes, i know this isnt the end of the world as many people report a whole range of issues worse than that, so ive been lucky i guess, but the fact it that i would have lost more weight if it would only come out of me! Ive now started adding extra fibre to my diet in the form of chia seeds, bananas and bran flakes. Hoping that helps.
Because of this situation, although ive lost weight, my belly has actually got BIGGER!
Measurements:
Neck – 19 inches
Ass – 48 inches (Down from 49)
Belly – 51.5 inches (Up 1.5inches from last week!)
Mounjaro effects: It really is crazy how this works. Ive been able to walk past food (nearly all week) and not even be remotely tempted to grab a bite – which is totally alien for me!
In my pre-injection research i read alot about the fact that the drug is most effective the day you take it, then by day 5 or 6 is about 50% effective – and i can tell. Today ive still been fairly ‘good’ but its been alot harder than any other day to keep out the fridge and not each chunks of cheese! Tonight (before injection No2 which ive just taken), Ive eaten a full large plate of dinner tonight – something that ive not managed all week.
Im hoping/assuming that once this 2nd injection kicks in i’ll be back to being able to control the cravings.
GYM: Ive also got my ass off the sofa and have been in the gym (in my garage) 4 times this week – and i hurt so much lol. Its been quite a long time since i blew the dust off the old weights, so i wont lie, its not been easy – BUT ive actually enjoyed it.
