Most of my gym equipment is pretty old, and some of it is even second hand! But it does the job, for now at least! One thing I’ve learnt the hard way is that ‘cheap’ gym equipment doesn’t cater to heavier people like me. Maybe some of you have noticed the max-weight warning on gym equipment and like me, ignored it. DON’T! Its there for a reason. In the past few years, Ive broken my first exercise bike and also had to replace the ball bearings of my rowing machine twice! I also had to send my first ‘cheap’ weight bench back, because once I laid back on it and lifted any amount of weight, it started to give way! So lesson learnt – spend more and get better quality gym equipment at the start will save you time and money in the long run!
Weight Bench: a solid weight bench is worth investing in!
Assault Bike: This is a tough workout!
Rowing Machine
Lat Pull-Down Machine: I always look forward to using the lat pull down machine. Its a great bit of kit!
Boxing Gloves: a good size for big hands
Punch Bag: Ive got through 2 of these as i keep tearing into the leather!
Squat Rack: This squat rack has been a good addition to the gym.
Regular Exercise Bike
Weight Gloves: I struggle with weight gloves to be honest! They work really well and do a great job of protecting your hands BUT I just feel like (and look like) a twat wearing them!
Free Weights: I’ve got a ton of iron free weights. Being iron they are so much smaller than the plastic weights, and to be honest I think they look a lot better, but they cost a lot more too! This is the make I use from Amazon.
Gym (garage) flooring: From Amazon these floor mats make my garage feel more gym like. they are a good thickness, making it a please to walk on.
