Well that’s one month done!
I weighed 266lbs or 19 stone on the 1st September and today I weigh 255lbs or 18 stone 3lbs.
A weight loss of 11lbs!
The Gym
I’ve managed to go into the gym for 24 days out of 30! I pushed it to much on the very first session, lifting a lot of weight, way too soon, and paid for it! I could barely move for 3 or 4 days after that, but I learnt my lesson and dialled it down.
I then got into a steady routine. 2 days of different resistance exercises using a range of dumb bells and barbells. I also have a larger piece of gym equipment for lat pull downs, tricep pushes and seated rows. Then on the third day I do some cardio including 10 mins on the exercise bike, 20 mins on the rowing machine and then 7 x 3 min rounds on the punchbag.
‘Exercise in the morning, before your brain knows what the hell your doing!’
I typically wake up, check work emails to make sure there’s no fires to put out, have a coffee, then get straight in the gym before the day really starts. I know that if I don’t do it first thing, it won’t happen!
My Diet
Bit hit and miss this first month to be honest!
The majority of the time this month, I’ve been really good and stuck to my diet plan of ‘Weight Watchers Approved’ Hello Fresh meal, and a light breakfast and lunch. But there’s also been several occasions where I’ve said screw it, and eaten more than I should! I find the trick is to then just draw a line under it as a ‘bad day’ and start fresh the next.
Size Matters…
Neck – 18 inches (down .5)
Belly – 48.5 inches (down 1.5)
Arse – 46.5 inches (down 1.5)
TOTAL 113 inches
This gives me a 3.5 inch loss in total
I’m very happy with this for the first month, maybe even more than the weight loss!
First Month – Summary
Overall, I’m really happy with how the first month has panned out. I know its possible to lose tons more than I have in the first month, but as I’m in this for the long term, I want to enjoy the process and the journey, which for me means still being able to have a cheeky lump of cheese from the fridge, or a drinking session with the guys, because I know that I’m motivated enough to be able to get back on the diet the following day! Sticking to a regular routine in the gym has obviously really helped me lose a decent amount. I just need to keep it up now for October…
